I'm not sure if it's LightSpeed, my dev vm or something funcky elsewhere but I'm seeing some strange characters in Visual Studio. Eg, this is a callstack I got for an expected validation error: at ..(Entity ) Also, in the MVC project when I add a view I get a list of types for the view model - this includes a LOT of rubbish entries:
I 'm not convinced this is a LightSpeed issue but the thought I should tell you chaps just in case :)

pretty sure this is the obvuscation that they put over the mindscape dll. |

Yep, Owen wins the cigar or coconut. It is indeed that we obfuscate the LightSpeed DLL. Since joining Mindscape I have become an expert at inferring which method a stack trace refers to from the number of arguments alone... |

Fair enough. It would be nice if these things were hidden from selection lists like this though. Cheers |

Hi Jonsie, It sure would be nice! Once Microsoft actually makes the dialog respect all the hints for things that shouldn't show then it will work. I haven't seen a connect ticket about this but I have seen a bunch of people complaining about this on various Microsoft forums. Unfortunately it's outside of our control sorry :-/ John-Daniel |

I've also seen this obfuscation cause problems with other applications (e.g. this forum software and LINQpad). Since Enterprise customers have access to the source code anyway, is there any chance that a non-obfuscated version would be released one day? Thanks, Chris |
