Hi Guys, I would like to know if you have support for SqlCE 4.0 in your product backlog yet? New in SqlCE 4.0: Ability to write paging queries using the OFFSET and FETCH T-SQL Syntaxes SQL Server Compact 4.0 CTP also supports running in medium trust environments in the web server. SQL Server Compact can run within the ASP.NET environment to provide the database functionality needed by the starter websites.

We should have a beta available by the end of the week. I would aim to have it to you tonight, but it looks like there's some setup required on the build server which I can't do from Mindscape North (so much for xcopy deployment *sigh*). |

Thank you so much |

Hello Johan, Beta support for SQL CE 4 will be in tonight's nightly build (dated 30 July, available from about 1500 GMT). Important: Unlike other providers, SQL CE 4 is not built into the main LightSpeed assembly. Therefore, in addition to setting the DataProvider to SqlServerCE4, your project must reference the Mindscape.LightSpeed.Providers.SqlServerCe4.dll assembly, which you can find in the install directory under Providers\SqlServerCE. Also please note this provider will not work with the .NET 2.0 compatibility build of LightSpeed. You must use the main LightSpeed build. The provider has not been tested on systems where SQL CE has been xcopy deployed rather than installed using the setup EXE. Please let us know if you run into any problems. |

Thank you Ivan I will provide feedback if any.

I forgot to say: this is runtime support only at the moment. Obviously you can still use designer models with CE4, you just won't be able to drag and drop from Server Explorer (though CE4 doesn't seem to appear in VS for me anyway), or do database sync with the designer. Let us know if this is a priority for you. |

Hi Ivan, I'm also not able to get SqlCE4.0 to display in VS. Creating the database via the designer will be nice if you can manage to slot it in some where :) Johan |

Righty ho, this will be in the 31 July nightly. Since CE4 seems to be lacking Visual Studio tooling to create databases, I've also added support so it will offer to create the SDF if it doesn't exist, which might save a bit of mucking around. (It will NOT upgrade 3.5 SDF files though. You're on your own there.) As always, please let us know if you run into any problems (or even if you don't). |

Wow, as always thank you for your excellent support. |
